PrintUNA and employers agree to formal mediation of provincial negotiations
The United Nurses of Alberta Negotiations Committee met with employer representatives on April 9, 2014 to discuss non-monetary items related to the Multi-Employer Provincial Collective Agreement.
After some discussion, both UNA and the employer bargaining committee, representing Alberta Health Services, Covenant Health and other employers, agreed to apply for formal mediation. Dates for mediation will be established once a Mediator has been appointed by Alberta Mediation Services.
Once an appointment is made, the mediator arranges meetings with the parties to deal with the issues in dispute. A mediator works with the parties to help them reach a collective agreement.
United Nurses of Alberta represents 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied health workers.
