UNA urges members to take part in CARNA flu survey

The United Nurses of Alberta Executive Board encourages UNA members to take part in the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta’s survey on influenza vaccination.

On June 24, CARNA emailed Alberta Registered Nurses a link to an on-line questionnaire as it develops a position statement on the flu-vaccination issue. The link is only available in the email from CARNA.

The UNA Board does not wish to advise members on a particular stand, but urged them to complete the CARNA questionnaire before the July 3, 11:00 p.m. closing date. CARNA will again be asking members to complete the questionnaire between July 11 to July 20.

The CARNA survey process has four steps:

-       Individual CARNA members are invited to respond to open-ended questions about the issue

-       The comments they provide will be prioritized

-       Participants will then be invited to review the prioritized comments and indicate the extent to which they agree or disagree

-       CARNA will receive a report on the outcome of the consultation

CARNA says it will deliver its final report before the end of August, in time for the regulatory body’s Provincial Council meeting in September.
