PrintNew contract ratified with Carewest
Members of United Nurses of Alberta Local 221 employed at Carewest Colonel Belcher in Calgary voted in early February 2015 to ratify a new collective agreement with their employer.
Improvements for UNA members covered by the new collective agreement include:
- Named Holiday Overtime clarification
- Improvement in Paramedical Coverage from $20/visit max $200 to $35/visit and 20 visits per year.
- Survivor benefits increased from 30 days to 90 days
- Elimination of the waiting periods for benefits
- Cost Sharing of Benefits for Maternity and Adoption Leaves of Absence for 12 weeks
- Improved Personal Leave
- Employer provided $250 for annual professional association fees,
- Provincial parity on salary
- Continuation of the $875 Lump Sum payment
- Introduction of the Provincial 2013-2016 Lump Sum payments
The four-year collective agreement will expire on March 31, 2017.
