UNA continues negotiations with CapitalCare - Edmonton

Representatives of United Nurses of Alberta Local 118 will continue negotiations on Feb. 23 and 24 for a new contract with their employer, CapitalCare - Edmonton.

Negotiations for a new contract began on October 27 and 28, 2014.

The current contact for local 118 members employed at nine worksites operated by CapitalCare - Edmonton expired on March 31, 2013. The current contract will carry forward until a new collective agreement is ratified.

Employees included in these negotiations are employed at the following facilities: Dickinsfield; Grandview; Laurier House; Lynwood; Norwood; Strathcona Care Centre; Choice Program Dikinsfield; Choice Program Norwood; Kipnes Centre for Veterans.

UNA provides a wide range of services to its members. A key role is negotiating the excellent collective agreements that regulate salaries, benefits, schedules and working conditions of members. UNA also administers its agreements to resolve disputes, improve working conditions and protect nurses' workplace rights.

UNA is the union for more than 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
