UNA donates $10,000 to Nepal earthquake relief

United Nurses of Alberta is supporting relief efforts in Nepal following major earthquakes that struck on April 25 and May 12, 2015. UNA’s Executive Board has approved a $10,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross, which has been on the ground providing vital support in the region.

The Canadian Red Cross has deployed its mobile field hospital and 25 aid workers to Nepal to help alleviate the strain on the local healthcare system. The magnitude 7.9 earthquake caused widespread devastation and resulted in immediate humanitarian needs.

Individual donations to the Canadian Red Cross Nepal Region Earthquake Fund made before May 25, 2015 will be matched by the Government of Canada. Visit RedCross.ca to make a donation.
