UNA negotiates with Hardisty Care Centre

Representatives from United Nurses of Alberta Local 234 employed at Hardisty Care Centre in Edmonton will hold negotiations for a new collective agreement with the nursing home owner, Park Place Seniors Living, on July 20 and 21, 2015.

The previous collective agreement for UNA members employed by Hardisty Nursing Home expired on December 15, 2013. The current contract will continue until a new collective agreement is reached.

One day of mediation is scheduled between the local and employer on July 22, 2015, and will be used if needed. UNA is hopeful that a tentative agreement can be reached in the two scheduled days of bargaining.

UNA provides a wide range of services to its members. A key role is negotiating the excellent collective agreements that regulate salaries, benefits, schedules and working conditions of members. UNA also administers its agreements to resolve disputes, improve working conditions and protect nursesí workplace rights.

United Nurses of Alberta is the union for more than 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
