University of Calgary student awarded UNA Education Scholarship

Nursing student Noah Bloomfield has been awarded a United Nurses of Alberta Education Scholarship to assist his studies at the University of Calgary.Noah’s scholarship application was sponsored by his mother, Mandy Bloomfield, who is a member of UNA Local 1 at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary. Mandy is also a member of the Local 1 Professional Responsibility Concern Committee. 

UNA’s annual scholarships are awarded to assist nursing students in their first year of studies at approved nursing programs at post-secondary institutions in Alberta. In 2017, UNA will award ten scholarships of $1000 each and one award of $1000 sponsored by the Canadian Federation of Nurses' Unions.

Applicants must be related to a UNA member in good standing, complete an application form and write a short essay. Applications for UNA’s 2018 Nursing Education Scholarship will be accepted until Oct. 15, 2017.
