AARN Established
The Alberta Association of Graduate Nurses, (later to become the Alberta Association of Registered Nurses—the AARN), was established to gain control over the standards of practice in nursing and over the standards of training programs for student nurses.
The Registered Nurses’ Act of 1916 gave legal sanction to the general aims of the AARN.
