JOINT COMMUNICATION
Multi-Employer/UNA Joint Staffing Task Force
June 10, 2008
The Multi-Employer/United Nurses of Alberta (UNA) Joint Staffing Task Force (the Task Force) held its initial meeting on June 9, 2008. Members of the Task Force are listed in Appendix A attached.
The Task Force developed draft Terms of Reference for the Task Force. These Terms of Reference are now subject to approval by each of the parties and will then be circulated to UNA members and employer representatives.
The Task Force commenced development of an inventory of actions and initiatives currently underway related to the issues of staffing and workload.
The Task Force will meet at least monthly and will share information and work collaboratively with the goal of making joint recommendations that will positively influence existing staffing and workload issues.
Future meetings of the Task Force have been scheduled for September 8 and 9 and October 17, 2008.
