Return to Work
Returning to work after an injury or illness?
It can be complex: get good Union advice.
Contact UNA if you are asked to attend a meeting to discuss your return to work.
Any Employee who is returning to work with health-related restrictions on what functions they can perform should contact their Local and Labour Relations Officer for assistance in the process. The Employers’ duty to accommodate health-related restrictions can be complex.
Some Employers do NOT fully inform Employees of their rights when returning to work with restrictions.
In any discussion you have with the Employer, or if the Employer is contacting you to discuss the restrictions and possible positions for placement, it is important to contact UNA and take UNA representation with you to the meeting.
