AADAC nurses vote to ratify moving to UNA provincial agreement

Nurses who worked with the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission voted overwhelmingly today to ratify a transition arrangement which brings them under the UNA Provincial Collective Agreement.

The transition modifies work hours for some of the nurses and improves some conditions and pay premiums. The nurses' classifications had to be adapted so that no nurse got a lower pay rate and most will actually move somewhat higher. The nurses also now get UNA education allowances.

About 80 nurses are affected. They continue to work in their AADAC duties but recently became employees of Alberta Health Services under the province-wide consolidation. These nurses work around the province in a number of capacities with AADAC.
