Edmonton - Twenty-five nurses from across North Central Alberta gathered in Edmonton for UNA's "Know Your Rights" workshop on June 30, 2011. The workshop, which was created for new nurses or experienced nurses just becoming involved with their union, was facilitated by UNA Education Officer Tim Gough and is one of many educational opportunities that UNA offers its members.

For many new nurses attending the day long session, this was their first introduction to UNA's Collective Agreement, the Professional Responsibility Committees, Occupational Health & Safety, and the Grievance process.

UNA is holding another "Know Your Rights" workshop on July 7 in Calgary. Future "Know Your Rights" workshops are scheduled for November 1 in Lethbridge, November 2 in Calgary, November 8 in Red Deer, November 10 in Edmonton, and November 15 in Grande Prairie.
