When you join, you can access and participate in discussions about interesting links, news stories, blogs, UNA updates, and videos and photos of UNA members from across Alberta. Since January 2010, over 1,300 comments, "likes" and conversations have been generated from UNA members and supporters on Facebook. Some UNA Locals have also used the page to post updates about upcoming events and meetings for members that might not be connected through the traditional ways that UNA Locals communicate with their members.
More UNA Locals are starting to create their own presence on Facebook and you can find links to them on Facebook and listed in the right-hand column of this article. Social networks like Facebook are powerful and easy to use tools that can help your UNA Local connect with members who are not plugged in to the traditional ways that Unions communicate with their members.
We encourage all UNA members and supporters to engage in these online social media and to have respectful conversations. It is a public forum and you are nursing professionals, so remember to have fun, be responsible, and keep it clean! |
