Edmonton - United Nurses of Alberta congratulates Edmonton MLA Fred Horne on his appointment as Alberta's new Minister of Health and Wellness and looks forward to working with him and Premier Alison Redford to enhance and protect Alberta's public health care system.
"We were pleased that Premier Redford showed a strong commitment to maintaining our province's public health care system during her party's leadership campaign, and we look forward to working with her and Minister Horne to achieve this goal," said UNA President Heather Smith.
"Nurses are hoping that this Minister can make improvements to how public health care is delivered in Alberta," said Smith.
"The continuation of the five-year commitment for stable funding in the health care budget is key to making improvements in Alberta's public health care system," said Smith.
