Calgarians rallied loudly against a taxpayer funded bailout of the private-for-profit Health Resource Centre. Organized by the Friends of Medicare, over 50 people converged on the front lawn of the financially insolvent HRC to call on the provincial government to stop funding the private clinic. UNA Secretary/Treasurer Karen Craik and members of UNA Locals 1 and 115 joined the rally in support of a stronger publicly funded
and operated health care system.
