Free "How to Lobby" workshops set for Monday and Tuesday in Calgary

The Labour Coalition on Pensions will hold free “How to Lobby” workshops in Calgary on Monday, March 17, and Tuesday, March 18.

Monday’s workshop will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Calgary Board of Education Staff Association Office, #3, 1915 – 32 Ave., NE, Calgary.

Tuesday’s workshop will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the UNA Calgary Office, 300, 1422 Kensington Road NW, Calgary. 

Pizza and beverages will be provided.

The workshops were organized by United Nurses of Alberta Local 1, the Calgary Board of Education Staff Association and Unifor.

UNA members interested in attending the workshops are welcomed, and may bring friends, family members of co-workers if they wish.

The events are free, but the Coalition requests that participants register so they know how much pizza and coffee to order.

Lobbying on this issue already has made a noticeable difference, said workshop co-ordinator Bob Hawkesworth, but the effort needs to continue.
