Professional Responsibility a top concern for Alberta nurses

Members of United Nurses of Alberta learned about Professional Responsibility Concerns at a day-long workshop at UNA's Provincial Office in Edmonton.

Reporting Professional Responsibility Concerns (PRC) documents your efforts to advocate for practice environments that enable nurses to provide safe, competent and ethical care.

In UNA's PRC workshop, nurses will develop the knowledge and skills to provide information, support and encouragement to members who report concerns, and to engage confidently with management representatives to achieve an effectively functioning PRC Committee.

Reporting a Professional Responsibility Concern is a constructive action that can help protect patients, clients, and residents and alleviate moral distress that nurses sometimes experience when they are unable to provide care as required by the standards of professional licensing bodies.
