UNA awards nursing scholarship to Red Deer College student

Nursing student Brooke Kirkpatrick has been awarded a United Nurses of Alberta Education Scholarship to assist her studies at Red Deer College. Brooke’s scholarship application was sponsored by her mother,Laura Kirkpatrick, who is a member of UNA Local 301 at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.

UNA’s annual scholarships are awarded to assist nursing students in their first year of studies at approved nursing programs at post-secondary institutions in Alberta. In 2017, UNA will award ten scholarships of $1000 each and one award of $1000 sponsored by the Canadian Federation of Nurses' Unions.

Applicants must be related to a UNA member in good standing, complete an application form and write a short essay. Applications for UNA’s 2018 Nursing Education Scholarship will be accepted until Oct. 15, 2017.
