UNA Locals are encouraged to participate in the Alberta Federation of Labour Midterm Conference on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the MacEwan Conference and Event Centre in Calgary.

This year’s midterm conference will focus on keeping Alberta moving forward towards a progressive, worker-friendly future. Participants will hear from guest speakers including Canadian Labour Congress senior economist Angella MacEwan, North American Energy News editor and publisher Markham Hislop, and Alberta Minister of Labour Christina Gray.
The conference will feature a keynote address by former United States Secretary of Labor Robert Reich. A well-known economic analyst and a New York Times best-selling author, Reich’s keynote address will tackle the theme “Saving Capitalism – Income Inequality and Populism" and refer to his most recent books, Economics in Wonderland and The Common Good.
UNA members and members of the general public can purchase tickets to hear Robert Reich’s keynote speech on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at MacEwan Hall.
