HSAA seeks status as intervenor in UNA’s Nurse Practitioner application

The Health Sciences Association of Alberta has applied for intervenor status in United Nurses of Alberta’s application for determination to represent Nurse Practitioners employed by Alberta Health Services.

HSAA’s application includes a request that it be granted the right to call evidence and to provide oral and written submissions on all issues before the Board. It appears from their application that HSAA believes Nurse Practitioners should be in their bargaining unit.

UNA believes there is no basis for HSAA suggestion that Nurse Practitioners should be in their bargaining unit.

UNA was informed of this development on April 25 by HSAA.

HSAA represents employees of Alberta Health Services employed in paramedical technical and paramedical professional capacities.
