May 15, Letter from federal Department of Justice stating the Attorney General of Canada does not intend to intervene in constitutional matters raised by UNA’s application for determination

In the matter of United Nurses of Alberta’s application to the Alberta Labour Relations Board seeking a determination that the union can represent Nurse Practitioners employed by Alberta Health Services, the federal Justice Department has indicated that the Attorney General of Canada does not intend to intervene in the matter at this time.

On April 5, 2018, lawyers acting for UNA filed an application with the Alberta Labour Relations Board seeking a determination that the union can represent Nurse Practitioners.
