Some UNA members will be invited to complete York University long-term care survey

Starting this week, researchers at York University in Toronto will be conducting an online survey of nurses working in long-term care workplaces.

The interdisciplinary research team led by Dr. Tamara Daly of York University will contact a random sample of United Nurses of Alberta members working in Long Term Care settings to participate in the survey, which will compare the experiences of unionized long-term care workers in Canada with those of workers in the same field in Nordic countries.

The survey follows up on the 2006-2007 York University survey comparing the work experiences of LTC workers in Canada with workers in similar settings in the Nordic countries and Japan.

The subject line of the email invitation to participate in the survey subject line will read York University Long-Term Care Workers’ Survey.

Email invitations to participate in the survey will be sent to you from the email address ltcstudy@yorku.ca and the survey can be completed by following the link embedded in the email. The survey will take about 20 minutes to complete and the results collected will remain entirely confidential.
