Up to five student nurses, and up to five Associate Members, may apply for funding to attend UNA AGM in October

2018 UNA Annual General Meeting

The United Nurses of Alberta Executive Board has passed a motion to fund up to five nursing students enrolled in nursing studies in Alberta to attend the 2018 UNA Annual General Meeting in Edmonton from October 23 to 25.

This is open to all nursing students enrolled in Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Registered Psychiatric Nursing programs. One may also be registered in a Licensed Practical Nursing program.

Preference will be given to facilitate one student can attend per district.

Funding includes travel, accommodations (if required), meal allowances and a banquet ticket.

Interested students should submit their names directly to Second Vice-President Daphne Wallace by email at "daphne @ una.ab.ca". The deadline for submission is September 14, 2018, at 1600.

Students must state their nursing program and school and year of studies, and provide phone number where they can be contacted.

UNA members are encouraged to pass this information on to any nursing students they know.

In addition, as per Procedure 20.1 of the UNA Policy and Procedure Manual, UNA is funding up to five Associate Members to attend the 2018 UNA AGM.

Funding for Associate Members includes transportation up to a maximum of $750.00, accommodations, meal allowance and a banquet ticket.

Interested Associate Members may submit their names directly Daphne Wallace by email at "daphne @ una.ab.ca". The deadline for submission is September 14, 2018, at 1600.

Associate Members are defined under Article 3.08 of the UNA Constitution as “Members who retire or resign and are therefore no longer paying dues to UNA.”
