Rally for Bargaining Rights

All UNA members in the Edmonton area, and any other members who can attend, are invited to attend a rally at the Alberta Legislature at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 28 to protest the Redford government’s Bill 45 and 46.

Any union member, supporter or ally is welcome to join in this protest against the Redford government’s undemocratic legislation.

Bill 46 applies only to AUPE, but is a clear foreshadowing of what UNA can expect - accept the employer's last offer or it will be legislated.

Bill 45 imposes massive fines for any “illegal strike or strike threat.” The fines include $1 million a day, a three month suspension of union dues for the first day, and an additional month of dues suspension for each further day.
