United Nurses of Alberta congratulates Premier Jim Prentice and Health Minister Stephen Mandel on their new roles in the provincial government.
"UNA looks forward to working with the new Premier and Health Minister to enhance and protect Alberta's fair and efficient public health care system," UNA President Heather Smith said this afternoon.
Safe staffing levels and improvements to patient care are two areas where Smith hopes gains can be achieved with the new provincial leadership.
"We look forward to a positive working relationship with Mr. Prentice and Mr. Mandel, and we are committed to keeping the lines of communication open even when we disagree," Smith said.
United Nurses of Alberta is the union for more 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
