UNA begins negotiations with Salvation Army Agape Hospice

Representatives from United Nurses of Alberta Local 232 at the Agape Hospice in Calgary will start negotiations this week for a new collective agreement with their employer, The Salvation Army.

Bargaining is scheduled to take place in Calgary on Jan. 22 and 23, 2015.

UNA Local 232 represents all unionized employees at this worksite, including those working in direct nursing, auxiliary nursing, paramedical professional or technical services, and general support services.

The previous collective agreement for Local 232 expired on September 30, 2013. The current contract will continue until a new collective agreement is reached.

UNA provides a wide range of services to its members. A key role is negotiating the excellent collective agreements that regulate salaries, benefits, schedules and working conditions of members. UNA also administers its agreements to resolve disputes, improve working conditions and protect nurses’ workplace rights.

United Nurses of Alberta is the union for more than 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
