United Nurses of Alberta executive officers presented scholarships this week to four Nursing students studying at universities in Alberta.

University of Alberta nursing student Katelyn Olsen was presented with a scholarship today. Katelyn's scholarship application was sponsored by her aunt, Beverly Larson, who is a member of UNA Local 302N at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.

Grant MacEwan University student Natalie Channon and Celine Broen were presented with UNA Education Scholarships earlier this week. Natalie was sponsored by her mother Lorraine Channon, who is a member of Local 33 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Celine was sponsored by her mother, Lucie Broen, a member of Local 15 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose.

This year's Canadian Federation of Nurses' Unions scholarship was awarded to Jordan Hodge, who is studying nursing at Grant MacEwan University. Jordon’s application was sponsored by her mother, Sherry, who is a member of Local 11 at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton.

Additional scholarships will be presented to Nursing students from across Alberta in the coming weeks.

Each year, UNA awards Nursing Education Scholarships to assist nursing students in their first year of studies at approved nursing programs in Alberta. In 2016, UNA will award ten scholarships of $1000 each and one award of $1000 which is sponsored by the Canadian Federation of Nurses' Unions.

Applications for UNA’s 2017 Nursing Education Scholarship will be accepted until Oct. 15, 2016.
