Representatives from United Nurses of Alberta Local 234 at Hardisty Care Centre and Local 417 employed at Devonshire Care Centre in Edmonton have prepared proposals to start negotiations for new collective agreements with their employer, Park Place Seniors Living.

For the first time, UNA will be negotiating for paramedical staff employed at the Hardisty Care Centre, in addition to the Registered Nurses.

Those members were welcomed into UNA in 2015. The current contracts will continue until a new collective agreement is reached. UNA provides a wide range of services to its members.

A key role is negotiating the excellent collective agreements that regulate salaries, benefits, schedules and working conditions of members. UNA also administers its agreements to resolve disputes, improve working conditions and protect nurses’ workplace rights.

United Nurses of Alberta is the union for more than 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
