Negotiations begin with Shepherd's Care Foundation

Representatives from United Nurses of Alberta Local 219 at the Millwoods Care Centre and Kensington Village Continuing Care Centre will begin negotiations this week for a new collective agreement with their employer, the Shepherd’s Care Foundation.

Bargaining is scheduled to take place in Edmonton on Dec. 9, 2014.

While the previous collective agreement for Local 219 expired on March 31, 2013, that contract will continue until a new collective agreement is reached.

UNA provides a wide range of services to its members. A key role is negotiating the excellent collective agreements that regulate salaries, benefits, schedules and working conditions of members. UNA also administers its agreements to resolve disputes, improve working conditions and protect nurses’ workplace rights.

United Nurses of Alberta is the union for more than 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
