UNA negotiates with Touchmark at Wedgewood

Representatives from United Nurses of Alberta Local 118 at Touchmark at Wedgewood in Edmonton will start negotiations today for a new collective agreement with their employer, Touchmark.

Bargaining is scheduled to take place in Edmonton on Jan. 13 and 14, 2015.

The previous collective agreement for Local 118 expired on March 31, 2013. The current contract will continue until a new collective agreement is reached.

Local 118 also represents UNA members employed with Capital Care-Edmonton. Negotiations with that employer began on October 27 and 28, 2014 and are scheduled to continue on Feb. 2 and 3, 2015.

UNA provides a wide range of services to its members. A key role is negotiating the excellent collective agreements that regulate salaries, benefits, schedules and working conditions of members. UNA also administers its agreements to resolve disputes, improve working conditions and protect nurses’ workplace rights.

United Nurses of Alberta is the union for more than 30,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta.
