UNA’s Southern Alberta Regional Office reopened today after having to be closed when severe flooding hit Calgary late last week.
SARO is located in Calgary’s Kensington area, one of the areas of Calgary that had to be evacuated when the nearby Bow River overflowed its banks on Friday.
Fortunately, the immediate area around the office was not flooded and UNA SARO staff members were able to return to their offices this morning.
A periodically updated Alberta Health Services website provides a full list of the health care facilities, including long-term care centres, that continue to be affected by the flooding.
